What do you want therapy to do?
Not sure? That’s completely okay
Many people come to therapy unsure of exactly what they want to work on. You don’t need to have it all figured out, we can explore that together.

Sometimes therapy has clearly defined goals or a diagnosis to structure the work around. Other times, neither the therapist or client have any idea where therapy will go, and we simply start by being curious about the unknown.

Here are some specific reasons people reach out:
I have a harsh or demanding inner critic: Do you feel like your life is often dictated to by a critical or judgmental part of yourself?
I have no control over repeating patterns: Do you find yourself caught in habits, compulsions, or thought cycles that hold you back, like those in OCD or other anxiety disorders?
I have been through some really difficult times and can't seem to move forward: Are you carrying trauma, grief, or childhood struggles, which seem to keep holding you back?
I would like to get to know myself better: Do you want to explore your identity, build self-esteem, or better understand how your mind works?
I have relationship struggles: Do you struggle to connect with others, set healthy boundaries, or communicate effectively?
I am struggling with a big life transition: Has there been a big change somewhere in your life which you are struggling to come to terms with?
I feel disconnected or dissociated: Do you sometimes feel cut off from yourself, your values, or a sense of meaning in life?
I am going through burnout and stress: Do you feel weighed down by work demands, constant pressure, or an inability to switch off until you hit exhaustion?
I struggle with body and/ or health concerns: Do health worries, body image struggles, or stress-related symptoms affect your daily life?

I still have no idea what I want to work on
Do not worry, this is totally normal, and maybe therapy for yourself will be more of a 'bottom up' process. We can explore the unknown together until it becomes a little clearer for you. The majority of times I have been to therapy myself I have not known exactly what I wanted either, just that I wanted something to change.

Why Therapy Helps
Therapy gives you a safe, supportive space to slow down, untangle what’s going on, and find new ways forward. It’s not that you are “broken”, although you may feel this way, it’s about giving yourself the chance to heal, grow and rediscover how to be you again.
